As I was going over the far famed Kerry mountains,
I met with Captain Farrell and his money he was counting.

Dieser Mann trifft bei seiner Reise über die berühmten Berge von Kerry auf Captain Farrell, der gerade sein Geld zählt. Er zieht also Pistole und Rapier und zwingt Captain Farrell, ihm sein ganzes Geld zu geben. Das bringt er zu seiner Liebsten, Jenny, die ihm ewige Liebe schwört. Als er sich aber zur Ruhe legt, nimmt Jenny ihm das ganze Geld und das Rapier und füllt seine Pistole mit Wasser. Dann lässt sie Captain Farrell rufen, der ihn am nächsten Morgen verhaftet. Unser Held will sich noch wehren, kann mit dem Wasser aber niemanden erschießen.
Wenn ihm jetzt noch jemand helfen kann, ist es sein Bruder, der in Cork oder Killarney stationiert ist und der ihn sicher besser behandelt als seine Jenny.
